Shonda Sue anounces site redesign, new projects
Teenage contemporary gospel and country recording artist Shonda Sue recently launched her redesigned official website at http://www.shondasue.com. She is also preparing to release two live albums by year-end and a new contemporary gospel album in 2003.
Shonda Sue, a teenage Nashville recording artist from Indianapolis, plans to release a live Christmas album in early December and a live album featuring favorites from her 2002 concerts by the end of 2002.
"Christmas with Shonda Sue" features nine traditional holiday favorites and may be ordered online at the recently re-designed official website for the teenage singer, http://www.shondasue.com.
"Shonda Sue Live 2002" features a mix of country and contemporary Christian/gospel favorites from her 2002 concert series. Shonda Sue plans to make the live favorites album an annual tradition, beginning with this album which showcases her talent for both genres. The contemporary gospel music gives listeners a preview of what to expect from her fourth studio project, a contemporary gospel album to be recorded in Nashville and released in 2003.
Shonda Sue began recording and performing when she was 8. She released her first country album, "I Love to Sing," and followed it up with a gospel album titled "Sweet, Sweet Land" when she was 10.
Last year, at age 13, Shonda Sue recorded her second country album (and first Nashville project) "Girl Thang" at Moonlight Recording Studio, under the supervision of producer Dick McVey.
The album features five originals she chose from more than 300 selections along with five cover songs. Helping with the project were a variety of musicians from the country music industry, including:
• Piano - Rick Ruist (worked with Doug Stone)
• Accoustic Guitar - Steve Sturm (worked with Travis Tritt)
• Steel Guitar - Tommy Hannom (worked with Ricky Van Shelton)
• Lead Guitar - Mike Baker (works at Grand Ole Opry)
• Bass Guitar - Dick McVey (also is her producer for the album)
• Drums - Keith Kittle
• Lead Backup - Judy Rodman (who helped write a couple of the originals on the album as well as earned honors for a song performed by LeAnn Rimes)
The single "Live While I Can" from the "Girl Thang" album made its debut in Europe and Australia in May 2002, released by Comstock Records on a compilation CD. Since then, overseas DJs have requested Shonda Sue's entire "Girl Thang" album and have been playing other tracks.
All six albums are available at Shonda Sue's official website along with biographical, booking and fan club information. Also featured are an online store, appearance schedule and guestbook. A new photo gallery will be added soon.
Additional details about the contemporary gospel album will be featured on the website and released when available.
