GEORGIA BULLDOGS HIT ROAD TO MAKE CASE FOR FIESTA BOWL

If Georgia beats Arkansas in the SEC Championship game, the Bulldogs may become one of the best college football teams not to play for a national championship.

According to The CFC Scale, Georgia may become one of the best college football teams not to play for a national championship. The CFC Scale is based on a study of the correlation between regular season events and bowl game success. The study showed that quality road wins were the best predictor of bowl game victory.

The CFC Scale ranks Georgia and Ohio State as the top teams for a national championship game. Alabama, Iowa, and Notre Dame complete the top five. Notre Dame remained in the top five despite losing at USC because of Notre Dame's tougher road schedule.

Miami's argument for going to the Fiesta Bowl is Miami's win at Florida, which beat the Bulldogs at Georgia. However, Miami played Florida A&M the week before beating Florida, and Florida had two weeks to prepare for Georgia. If Georgia beats Arkansas, the Bulldogs will have the best record against one of the toughest road schedules in the nation.
