Veridian and SecureInfo Awarded $10.8 Million Task Order
Team to support the Federal Computer Incident Response Center (Cyber Homeland Security)
Veridian Corporation (NYSE: VNX) and SecureInfo Corporation today announced that the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded the team a $10.8 million task order to support the Federal Computer Incident Response Center (FedCIRC). FedCIRC is an agency proposed to be incorporated into the Department of Homeland Security. Veridian is the prime contractor for the task order.
In order to protect the information systems of all federal agencies against vulnerabilities, FedCIRC awarded the task order to the Veridian/SecureInfo team to develop and maintain a web-based capability for authentication, validation, notification and dissemination of patches that can be used by IT managers and specialists across the federal government.
The Veridian/SecureInfo partnership offers tremendous capabilities to support information security operations for critical government organizations," said Jim Jaeger, Veridian vice president of the companys San Antonio-based Cyber Assurance Group. As a pioneer and one of the recognized leaders in the cyber security arena, Veridian provides information security services to key federal government operations including the defense and intelligence communities and many other government agencies."
SecureInfo Corporations chief operating officer, John M. Linton, stated, We are excited to be a part of the FedCIRCs commitment to protect critical information systems across all federal agencies. By combining Veridians 25 years of experience designing, operating and strengthening some of the nations most critical security networks and SecureInfos leading security product, InSiteEVM, the FedCIRC has established a proven solution that enables mitigation of patch-related vulnerabilities throughout the federal government infrastructure."
The Veridian/SecureInfo team will use InSiteEVMTM, SecureInfos commercial off-the-shelf Enterprise Vulnerability Management system, to provide patch authentication and dissemination services to all agencies of the federal government via FedCIRC and GSA FTS. Whether responsible for the entire enterprise or just one segment of the network, the Veridian/SecureInfo solution can pinpoint unpatched vulnerabilities down to the individual node, in real time, and will provide government IT managers with software-specific alerts -- managers will be notified only about threats affecting the software used by their agency. These services will be available to any federal government customer via GSA licenses.
