SEES® CANDIES MAKES A SWEET DELIVERY TO
SAN FRANCISCO FIRE FIGHTERS
Supports Local Charity with Donation of Over 20,000 Toys
San Francisco (December 5, 2002) -- This year will be a joyful season for many San Francisco families thanks to the San Francisco Fire Fighters 53rd annual Toy Program, which kicked off on December 2. Sees Candies, Inc., headquartered in South San Francisco, will donate 20,000 I Left My Heart in San Francisco®" Barbie® dolls and several thousand toy cars. The donation is the largest donation the Toy Program has ever received. Sees will also donate 20,000 of the limited edition dolls to the Los Angeles Highway Patrol toy program.
Sees Candies president and CEO, Charles N. Huggins, will personally delivered the dolls and cars to the Old Firehouse Number 30 on Monday, December 2, 2002.
The donation by Sees Candies is overwhelmingly generous," said Melissa Lerma, director of the San Francisco Fire Fighters Toy Program. Both the dolls and the cars are wonderful toys for children and they evoke happy memories for the parents. Thanks to the donation from Sees, this year well be able to provide a happy holiday to more families."
The San Francisco Fire Fighters Toy Program was established in 1949 by a few firefighters who donated their time to repair broken toys and bikes for local children. The program has since grown into the largest fire fighter program in the United States and now involves 300 fire fighters and volunteers who distribute more than 200,000 toys to over 10,000 disadvantaged families.
Since Sees Candies was founded in 1921, we have always lived by several guiding principles," said Huggins. Quality without Compromise and passionate involvement in our communities are the values we embrace and hold true to our hearts. This year, we are excited to help spread holiday cheer by participating in the San Francisco Fire Fighters Toy Program, which is a noble charity."
Huggins implores other San Francisco companies to get involved as well and encourages them to stop by the Old Firehouse to drop off their donations on Tuesday, or anytime during the holiday season.
During these turbulent times, it is important for companies to get back to their roots and support their local communities," suggested Huggins. Charitable giving during the holidays is just one of the ways we should all be involved.
Sees Candies, which has kitchens in South San Francisco and Los Angeles, is continuing to prove its passion for community involvement with an equally sweet delivery to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles County, which will support the CHPs local charity.
