LinkFerret Monitors and Analyzes Ethernet and 802.11B Networks.

Baseband Technologies announces the release of LinkFerret version 3.05, an Ethernet/802.11B network monitor and analyzer for Windows platform.

The capabilities of the LinkFerret monitoring products have been extended to provide support for both Ethernet and 802.11B networking. Backed by fifty years of in-house driver development experience, Baseband Technologies has created a custom high-performance driver to promiscuously capture 802.11 frames using Aironet wireless adapters. Now with one tool, the two most common network topologies can be covered. LinkFerret is a simple, yet powerful monitor built to fit the needs of the network administrator, protocol developer, and the security-minded individual.
LinkFerret protects corporate investment in monitoring tools because it can read trace files created by other monitors. Captured files, reports, and charts can be stored in many different formats.

System requirements.

LinkFerret Network Monitor will run under Windows 98/NT4/Me/XP, and Windows 2000. It requires a Pentium class machine, 5 megabytes of disk space and requires 32MB of RAM. Ethernet monitoring requires an Ethernet adapter capable of promiscuous reception. Wireless monitoring requires a Cisco Aironet 340/350 adapter. Wireless monitoring is not supported on NT4.

Price and Availability.

LinkFerret version 3.05 is available as of December 5, 2002. The price is $249.00 for the full program. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded from www.linkferret.ws.
