BiP PRESS RELEASE

Government Opportunities Magazine Voted Top of its Class by BSA

Government Opportunities, the flagship colour magazine focused on public procurement published by Business Information Publications Ltd (BiP), has received the highly prestigious Chairmans Award for best magazine with a focus on procurement" from the Business Services Association (BSA), fighting off competition from rival publications to win this title.

Representatives of the magazine were presented with the award at the annual BSA Black-Tie Dinner in Piccadillys Le Meridian Hotel, on 28 November. Collecting the award, a delighted Ron Burges, BiPs Managing Director, said on receiving the trophy:

We greatly appreciate and welcome the accolade presented to Government Opportunities through this award by BSA. We consider this is an acknowledgment of the contribution GO has made not only to the raising of awareness in public procurement but hopefully also to its role in helping develop and spread new procurement thinking to the benefit of all. It is always good to be a winner, especially when the accolade is presented by those involved in the sector on which your publication is focused."

This award recognizes the hard work carried out by the Government Opportunities team, based in Glasgow. Government Opportunities, affectionately known by everyone in the procurement sector as GO, encompasses articles by and interviews with senior practitioners, captains of industry and leading political figures, and also contains industry news and reports. The magazine has a readership of approximately 24,000, and its mission is to facilitate business between the public and private sectors.

Government Opportunities is also available at www.govopps.co.uk, or you can visit the main BiP website at www.bipcontracts.com, which also gives details of BiPs high-profile events and conferences and their range of other publications.

About BiP

Business Information Publications Ltd (BiP) was established in 1984 to facilitate business between the public and private sectors. What began with the publishing of public sector contract information has since developed into the provision of a comprehensive total procurement solution.

BiP is today Europe's leading provider of public sector contract information, offering suppliers and buyers access to what is probably the world's largest database of current open contract opportunities, which includes the OJEC/TED. BiPs service development is solely client-driven. In addition to providing our growing client base with more open contract notices and awards, faster than any other service provider, we also provide internet services and web management as a GTC* approved supplier, with technical and contract procedural support. We are also a leading provider of e-tendering procurement systems.

BiP also provides a total event management service and hosts events ranging from small seminars to large conferences and exhibitions for a wide range of government organisations.
