Hurley, Mississippi, December 6, 2002 - Mimi's Heavenly Delights is Meg Smith's new online auction bakery. She has traded one sweet love for another.

Educated in Mobile, Alabama, Meg worked for fifteen years as an ophthalmic nurse. She left her cherished position when she started having ear problems.

Due to the fact I have Meniere's disease it has been an adjustment for my daughter and I, but life is good!!" Meg said.

Menieres disease is rare, incurable, and the cause is unknown. I did not know what to expect but knew that in time I would not hear," she said. Meg is no longer able to drive because she cannot hear trains or emergency vehicles. But her account is one of personal triumph against an illness that she refuses to let hold her back.

Meg Smith learned the art of baking at her Mothers knee. She moved from Alabama to Mississippi in her early twenties. Mimi's Heavenly Delights of Heavenly Holiday Cake, Heavenly Pecan Pies, Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Mississippi Mud Puppies are baked in her country home in the small community of Hurley.

I started selling on auctions a few years ago as a hobby and now it is my new job!! I love it and the wonderful people I have met and made friends with. I love to bake homemade goods and I have had standing customers for years, some ordering each week," Meg said. Her hopes and dreams are pinned on her 15-year old daughter who bakes when she is in the mood," Meg shares. She calls her daughter the "love of my life."
