Minnesota Welcomes The Largest LAN Event Ever

The Minneapolis Convention Center is preparing to be taken over

(Minneapolis, Minnesota) December 04, 2002 In 10 days 200 people from South Dakota to Wisconsin will flock to the Minneapolis Convention Center for MNLAN III.

The event, appropriately named MNLAN," is the brainchild of four avid video gamers. LAN is short for Local Area Network. A LAN PARTY" is an event where a group of people get together to play video games. But this LAN is going above and beyond with a state wide record breaking length of 16 hours.

About nine months ago, a couple friends were looking for an event that was organized and geared towards the extreme multi-player gaming experience. Since they couldn't find what they were looking for, they decided to create their own. They rented a small conference room at a local Holiday Inn. They had 25 friends and co-workers who participated. Everything went smoothly and they had a great time creating the new Minnesota gaming experience. The next event was the same group of people and they brought friends. The small conference room started to get crowded and a larger venue was needed. While they were looking for the new venue, they put some serious time into it to compete with the other LAN organizations in the Minneapolis-St Paul area. Once the new location was disclosed, MNLAN was created.

On December 14th, 2002 MNLAN III will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in exhibit room block 102.

The event is sold out as of now but we have reserved special seats for members of media. Just check in under the name of your respective employer.

The site, www.mnlan.com, features event details, downloads, forums, reviews and other areas to learn about the event. Throughout the entire time they will remain on AOL Instant Messenger and have updated information at during the event.

The event is on December 14th, 2002 starting at 8:00am and goes until midnight.
