New product cuts J2EE application development time dramatically after only one days training
Cirencester, 9th December 2002 - Corexe Ltd, the Gloucestershire based software company, announces the release of a ground breaking Java Application Builder -- JayCore, enabling large or small companies to develop complex, data intensive, Web applications in one third of the normal time and at greatly reduced costs.
Edgar Smith, Technical Director, of the Cresta Group, a leading London financial software house said, JayCore is an immensely powerful tool. With Jaycore, Corexe has opened up the J2EE world to everyone who needs Internet systems today, not sometime in the future. Jaycore is easy to use, enables rapid creation of software without the need for expensive technical resource and gives an unparalleled boost to ROI"
David Quarterman, Managing Director, commented, In this uncertain economic climate, the main worry facing IT Managers is the lack of resources to enable their departments to deliver projects on time and within greatly reduced budgets."
He continued, The IT world is split into two rival technologies for the Internet; Microsoft with its .NET architecture and The Rest, with Java J2EE. While .NET runs on Microsoft systems only (i.e. Windows and its variants), J2EE runs on any system that supports the Java Virtual Machine (i.e. all systems including Microsoft)."
.NET attempts to expand Microsofts stranglehold beyond the desktop to the major systems within the organisation and seeks to achieve International status by political machination as much as anything. J2EE is ratified as an International Standard and is underwritten by the likes of IBM, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Sun, Fujitsu, Apple, etc." He emphasised, Although everyone is familiar with Microsofts pervasive, user-friendly systems, more and more customers are feeling less comfortable with the fact that their flexibility is limited by the closed nature of one company. Open Systems are gradually coming to the fore with such operating systems as Linux and most Java systems adhere to this concept (its a plank of J2EE)."
He went on, Anyone can write a Java program just as anyone can paint a room. However, painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is beyond most of us and being able to write a scalable, reliable J2EE Java application is a rare skill too"
Using IBMs Web development tools, a competent J2EE programmer estimated 6 man-months development time for a moderately complex CRM system. With JayCore, the estimate came down to 10 days for the same system"
JayCore utilises any Java compliant Application Server, including the free versions such as Jboss and can access multiple data sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Access etc.) from any location.
The market for JayCore is truly enormous," says David Quarterman, as it can handle a multitude of different applications, for example, risk management for Investment Banks, knowledge management on a corporate intranet or just to access and update data."
JayCore is extremely user friendly and normally only one days training is required to get started.

Background
Corexe Ltd
With offices in Cirencester and Exeter the development team at Corexe Ltd has many years experience in the financial services sector, legal partnerships and logistics companies but any company with an IT Department can benefit from JayCore.
The concept of JayCore came out of the problems of;
· rare and expensive Java programming skills
· lengthy development timescales
· esoteric concepts which make J2EE applications difficult to develop
JayCore has been under development since 1996. It is operating system independent, database independent and Web server independent (working, as it does, with any J2EE Web server). By taking this approach, Corexe has reduced the production of industrial-strength Web systems to something that can be handled by almost anyone within the organisation.
JayCore is not a Web page design tool -- it works with any on the market today (e.g. MacroMedia DreamWeaver, Microsoft FrontPage, etc).
JayCore supports all known databases via JDBC and ODBC connections.
JayCore supports J2EE Web servers including but in no way limited to; JBoss 2.4.4 and JBoss 3.0.2 (both free) , IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic.
