Building on several years strategic research and consultancy relative to network and communications services and revenue management, Prior Intelligence Ltd., the UK-based strategic technology group, is pleased to announce that it has founded a subsidiary group to commercialise new approaches to next-network services.

Living through the Internet bubble, it could have been thought that all that was needed to make money online was to post content and wait for users to arrive. In retrospect, it appears that building it was no guarantee of success. The fallout from those times illustrates key issues with the nature of online content and services and has left us, the users, with 'a culture of the free' and a services subscription model.

Stemming from a variety of legacy business models, compounded by resource requirements and the simple economics of the proposition, the present online environment is a mixture of the 'untamed free' and the 'expensively verifiable'. More than this, however, it is the outdated idea that content is distinct from other network services that provides the greatest restrictions to online business.

Prior Intelligence Ltd, building on extensive research and development work in the telecommunications and network sectors, announces that it has founded a subsidiary operation: Transactive Networks Ltd. Intended to resolve today's online service issues, Transactive Networks has a mission to deliver a platfrom to manage and deliver content oriented services at any network level.

Taking the radical approach that network service models are present at every level of the communications model allows Transactive Networks to realise diversified, discrete revenues for its clients and to realise both verifiable service and value for money for their customers. Transactive Networks achieves this through the provision of a services platform derived from the principles of application specific dynamic networking and the mesoNET model.

Transactive Networks is currently in development mode but forecasts conservative sales in excess of GBP 5 million by 2005. Transactive Networks is currently delivering prospectuses for an early stage funding round and expects to close this round by January 2003.
