Smallbiz UK Limited is launching a web-based solution to help companies do more business with British small firms. Clients can use a wide range of information and services to attract the interest of small business customers. Costing as little as 200 per month, the service has a price tag at least 100 times less than alternative solutions.

Established in 1999, at the height of the 'dot-com boom', Smallbiz UK has quietly built a business specialising in the needs of small firms, which make up 99% of UK businesses, according to DTI figures. During this time, Smallbiz UK has created a large portfolio of relevant content and created a series of demonstration sites - while most of its competitors have either spent many millions of pounds or simply gone bust.

Managing Director Gerard Liston comments: "Most existing web sites aimed at small firms tend to be driven by large corporations or government departments with large budgets. Although plenty of companies want to deal with small firms, few can afford the kind of budgets these organisations lavish on web sites. Our service allows clients to offer a service that costs a tiny fraction of the price and often provides more content."

Smallbiz UK already 'powers' a number of sites, ranging from the main web presence of the business networking organisation Business Clubs UK, to a promotional site offered to small business customers by GoJobsite, the UK's leading online recruitment company. Now, Smallbiz UK has packaged the service to make it easily available and affordable to most companies.

Operating from a small office in North Leeds, the company outsources all its business services. As well as web hosting and site development, this also includes the finance department and even the MD. Gerard Liston comments: "We avoided the dot-com fashion of spending money as quickly as possible.
