The weekly column selects a product and secret shops a handful of websites to determine the best value. The article featured karaoke machines.
A female reporter from the Journal secret-shopped us on-line and ordered one of our most popular systems. We had no idea she was a reporter until she called and revealed herself" said Frerick. In her follow-up phone call to us, she told us the machine was great and her overall experience was good."
Frerick and Steele were anxious to see the article but remained cautiously optimistic. We had no idea that we would be rated the Best Overall" said Steele.
We are getting karaoke system orders from presidents and executives from some high profile companies---the typical Wall Street Journal readers." Said Frerick. The response to the article has been strong and we have sold a record number of these systems. Our staff has done a great job keeping up."
Karaoke Star has a 3000 square foot retail store on the SW corner of 32nd St and Greenway and a 6000 square foot distribution center.
The article has been reprinted in some other regional and city newspapers and has even made a recent appearance overseas in a Korean newspaper.
