British Connection announces launch of Bakers Choice, a new on site bakery specializing in British baked items using traditional methods.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (December 9, 2002)- British Foods Connection, Inc., one of the largest importers/wholesalers of British Food in the Eastern U.S., has announced the launch of Bakers Choice, their new full line, on site bakery at their retail location. The bakery specializes in traditional English, Scottish and Irish baked items as well as some popular American basics. Products include the British alternative to the American hamburger, the Scotch pie a blend of pastry and uniquely seasoned beef, as well as sausage rolls, English pork pies, beef bridies, various white and whole wheat Artisans breads, specialty rolls, freshly baked desserts and other savories all made from scratch.

Our customers are the inspiration for this bakery," states Norma McCluskie, President and founder of The British Connection. The demand for these baked products has always been high, but customers wanted fresh and well made goods. It was our goal to satisfy our customers by giving them items that are baked using traditional methods and from scratch baking. Todays market is infiltrated with bakerys that use pre-mixed formulas. Our bakery creates every recipe on site and by hand with emphasis on creating hearty foods that are packed with flavor and satisfy the biggest hungers."

James McCluskie, Vice President, wanted the authenticity of a British bakery, I wanted to make certain all the spices and flavors were exact, because the scent and flavor is what makes people feel they have gone home." McCluskie worked with authentic British bakers overseas and a highly experienced staff to create what he terms A new kind of artisan bakery".
