ROBERT KENNEDY TO TAKE THE HELM AS CEO
OF 7HILLS GLOBAL SYSTEMS
Veteran to Elevate Indian Software Provider to Leader in Supply Chain Industry
Bob Kennedy has just been named the Chief Executive Officer of 7Hills Global Systems. Kennedy brings over 20 years of experience in the supply chain arena most recently serving as one of the four founders of MARC Global Holdings as the company was divested from TRW. Kennedy is most well-known for his long list of large-scale, highly successful implementations with companies like Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol Myers Squibb, Random House, USCO Logistics, and Philips Consumer Electronics. 7Hills offers a unique business model. Not only does the company offer two stellar software products--ABB: Activity Based Billing a must for 3PLs and EnVision: an SCE visibility system-- but the company also brings a world-class offshore development team coupled with a staff of highly trained US supply chain professionals to handle implementations. Kennedy believes this will provide the formula for the company's success and will set the precedent for successful supply chain software providers worldwide.
DULLES, Va.-Dec. 9, 2002-7Hills Global Systems, a supply chain solutions provider, today announced that Robert C. Kennedy has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the company. Founder and former-CEO, Sitaram Geddam will now serve as Chief Technology Officer. Kennedy, formerly of MARC Global Holdings and TRW, brings over 20 years of experience in the supply chain software and services industry and will take the lead as the company looks to expand its client base in the Americas.
Throughout his extensive career, Kennedy has designed, developed and implemented leading- edge supply chain execution solutions. With a particular expertise in warehouse management systems, Kennedy has been a key player in more than 100 large-scale implementations of supply chain execution software for leading customers such as: Johnson & Johnson, Glaxo-Smith Kline, Philips Electronics, USCO Logistics, Random House and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
As we have experienced great success with Asia-Pacific projects, we felt the need to really expand our operations in the Americas," Sitaram Geddam, founder and CTO, 7Hills Global Systems said. Bob brings experience not only in product development and systems integration but also in company development as one of the founders of MARC Global Holdings. His experience with organizations large and small coupled with a well-rounded background in multiple facets of running an organization and extensive knowledge of the market makes Bob the ideal leader for the 7Hills organization."
Prior to joining 7Hills, Kennedy was one of the founding partners of MARC Global Holdings, formed through a divestiture from TRW. With MARC, a supply chain execution systems and services company, Kennedy led the MARC Global Services group in North and South America. Leading MARC to a position of leadership, especially in the Pharmaceutical market segment, Kennedys team successfully implemented the MARC software in six of the top 10 pharmaceutical manufacturers. Through the divestiture from TRW, Kennedy oversaw the business infrastructure development and the efforts to rebuild the depleted sales organization and business operations.
My previous position with mega-giant TRW and then rebuilding MARC as an independent company, has offered me the experience necessary to help build on the success that 7Hills has already achieved abroad," Kennedy said. 7Hills business model is uniquely positioned and targeted toward a market moving in the direction of outsourcing of software development and integration services, and we feel that it will easily translate to the Americas."
The outsourcing model, including offshore capabilities, is an irresistible one for companies in the supply chain, looking to maintain or gain their competitive edge," Kennedy added. It frees companies to use their best and brightest to truly innovate, while providing those companies with a cost-effective solution for product development and maintenance. Because of their domain expertise, 7Hills is an ideal solution for supply chain companies looking for a partner. 7Hills has tremendous opportunity for growth."
Kennedy is one of seven original members of Alpha & Omega Integrated Control Systems, now part of GENCO Distribution. He also served as part of the management team that built the DOMS WMS product. Additionally, Kennedy has designed material handling systems installations while with Westinghouse Electric (now Cutler-Hammer) and later with Fisher Scientific. Kennedy earned his degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University.
