VETERAN SONGWRITER RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM

Critically acclaimed Nashville Country, Blues and R&B songwriter Bucky Lindsey celebrates his debut artist offering on the Pensacola-based Gulftone Records label today.

PENSACOLA, FL-"I've always written songs for other people, I guess it's about time I wrote some for myself, says songwriter Bucky Lindsey, who officially releases his debut album entitled Back Bay Blues on the Pensacola-based, independent Gulftone Records label today. Back Bay Blues was produced by critically acclaimed artist/producer and longtime co-writer Dan Penn.

Lindsey, a 30-year songwriting veteran, relocated to the Gulf Coast from Nashville last year. Recent success includes the stunning title track for Solomon Burke's Don't Give Up On Me on Fat Possum Records, which Lindsey co-authored with Dan Penn and Carson Whitsett.

"I love the music of the South and the people who play and sing it. It always brings me back home. On this album, I've included many songs which reflect my experience of it, because it's the part of the country that I love the most," Lindsey adds.

Originally from Biloxi, MS, Lindsey started playing music after finishing high school in Mobile, AL. He went on to tour as a bassist and featured vocalist with various headliners such as Little Jimmy Dickens, Ray Price, and Lonnie Mack.

In 1973, Lindsey moved to Nashville where he pursued a successful songwriting career. Lindsey's songs have garnered several nominations and awards, and have been recorded by a diverse variety of artists, including Etta James, George Jones, Dr. Hook, The Flying Burrito Brothers, John Anderson, Koko Taylor, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Lindsey recently co-authored several songs for Dan Penn's 2000 Blue Nite Lounge release.

Many of the songs on Back Bay Blues were newly crafted for the project. Others Lindsey says, had been in his catalog but were never recorded. Album highlights include a powerful writer's rendition of his Handy-nominated song, Good Day for The Blues," previously recorded by Ruth Brown on her album of the same title.

Back Bay Blues can be purchased directly from www.Gulftone.com, and is also available at Amazon.com and other major online retailers.
