Siemens Certifies and Signs Agreement with Oki Network Technologies for VoIP Gateways to Interoperate with Siemens' SURPASS Systems
Oki Network Technologies (Oki NT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. of Japan, today announced that it has signed a SURPASS Certified Product Agreement with Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) and the first certification of an Oki product for use with Siemens' SURPASS systems. The VoIP-TA-S terminal adaptor has been developed and certified to inter-work with Siemens' SURPASS H.323 Annex M.3 protocol requirements and is now available for use in combination with Siemens' SURPASS Next Generation Network products.
Sunnyvale, Calif. - October 28, 2002 - Oki Network Technologies (Oki NT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. of Japan, today announced that it has signed a SURPASS Certified Product Agreement with Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) and the first certification of an Oki product for use with Siemens' SURPASS systems. The VoIP-TA-S terminal adaptor has been developed and certified to inter-work with Siemens' SURPASS H.323 Annex M.3 protocol requirements and is now available for use in combination with Siemens' SURPASS Next Generation Network products.
This agreement will now enable worldwide service providers and enterprise customers to have access to a pre-tested, proven end-to-end IP-based telephony solution that is highly interoperable and scalable for both new and existing voice-data networks. Additionally, this agreement opens new doors of opportunities for service providers and enterprises to supplement, expand, or replace their existing systems by implementing lower cost VoIP technologies that give their customers the advantages of IP services, as well as all of the perks of TDM telephony service, including call waiting, call forwarding, call hold, etc.

The VoIP-TA-S is a single port terminal adaptor that incorporates H.323 Annex M.3 supplementary services as well as standard H.323 interface capabilities. Designed for enterprise, residential and SOHO use, the VoIP-TA-S is competitively priced, as well as easy to provision and install.
