We would like to inform you that the IGDD and her members have handed in on December 2002 09.th., a proposal to the European Union to prevent an EU membership of Turkey as long as expropriated Demirbankshareholders of IGDD are not full reimbursed. The IGDD is coerced to do this step in order to prevent financial damage and damage of their rights as shareholders. The IGDD, which have allready handed in 1.000 claims to turkish courts, does not want to hurt the turkish people and we are very unhappy to be coerced to run this proposal, but we are really forced to do so. As soon as the situation of the Demirbankshareholders is solved to our full contentment we will instantly take back our proposal to prevent an EU membership of Turkey.
The board of IGDD suggests immediate discussions between IGDD board and Prime Minister Abdullah Gül and AKP leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Our bags are packed and we are prepared to fly to Ankara tomorrow or whenever the turkish government is willing to negotiate.
