WIT ANNOUNCES DAWN PATRICK 2003 PRESIDENT

Women in Technology (WIT), a society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), today announced the appointment of Dawn Patrick, a Deloitte & Touche tax partner and leader of the firms Atlanta Womens Initiative, as president of the 2003 WIT board of directors.

ATLANTA -- Women in Technology (WIT), a society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), today announced the appointment of Dawn Patrick, a Deloitte & Touche tax partner and leader of the firms Atlanta Womens Initiative, as president of the 2003 WIT board of directors. She is a long time member of the WIT board and an active member of Georgias business community. Patrick will transition into her new role on January 1, 2003.

Patrick said, I am excited to embark on this new endeavor. My goal for WIT is to continue to provide programs which will contribute to the success of women pursuing careers in the technology industry and encourage more women to consider the industry as a career choice."

2003 marks the 10 year anniversary of WIT and Dawn is the right person to lead WIT into the next decade," said Mary Lou Heastings, 2002 president of WIT and director of Enterprise E-Business for Worldspan. Over the past decade, our organization has evolved from a handful of very successful women in technology to an established, pivotal organization under the TAG umbrella and within the Georgia business community."

Heastings adds, With Dawn steering the vision for WIT in 2003, our members should continue to anticipate innovative programs and initiatives."

With her appointment as WIT president, Patrick also will become a TAG board member. She is a tax partner with Deloitte & Touches Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group and has been practicing in corporate tax for more than 20 years. Patrick counsels her clients in a variety of areas, including corporate income tax, sales and use tax, state tax credits and incentives, internet taxation issues, research and experimentation credits, tax issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, taxation of stock options and other equity transactions.

Patrick is a graduate of Auburn University and has served on the Accounting School's Advisory Council. In addition to her involvement with WIT, she is active in supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as the Wesleyan School and the Murphey-Candler Park sports programs. She is a member of the AICPA and has participated in the Georgia 100 program.
