BOCA RATON, FL., (9th December 2002) ' Adhaero Technologies, the US/UK leading document security provider, has released Adhaero Doc, a comprehensive Windows-based solution that encrypts and controls the use of Microsoft Office documents and emails throughout their lifecycle.
Adhaero Doc assigns digital access rights to documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and emails whilst they are being created within Microsoft Office or Outlook, avoiding the current need to reformat files, or save documents into third party applications, prior to distribution. The security is attached to the document itself, not a hard disk or server.
Utilising the latest Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology, in addition to encryption, Adhaero Doc secures and permanently controls the use of a document, even when it has left the organisation. Even if the user allows collaboration on a document, he or she can still prevent it being cut, copied, pasted, forwarded or printed without permission; even preventing access to it until a given date or time. They can even ensure the document is destroyed after a given date, regardless of where it has been sent.
Although a number of authentication methods, including group codes, are available, Adhaero Doc also integrates with Windows NT directory and password structure, enabling use of the Windows NT login.
