Acknowledge Technologies Provides Introductory, Intensive and Essential Servlets/JSP Java Courses In 2003

Acknowledge Technologies Provides Introductory, Intensive and Essential Servlets/JSP Java Courses In 2003 Written By Leading UK Java Specialist Dr Cleveland Gibbon

----Begins----

Acknowledge Technologies http://www.acknowledge.co.uk, the London-based the training and software development consultancy is to hold two intensive Java specialist courses in early February 2003. The Acknowledge team has a healthy mix academic and industry-focussed experience that is used to deliver workshop-style courses that convey key concepts using real-world examples gained from working on real systems.

Aimed at managers and developers, the courses will cut through the hype and instil confidence into organisations thinking of taking the Java route for system development. Delegates will benefit from knowing exactly what is Java, its scope within the industry, how to integrate Java with legacy, current and future technologies, and learn what the boundaries and limitations are with Java.

The first course, Intensive Java", held between 3-5 February 2003, pulls together the contents of the Introduction to Java and Intermediate Java courses. This course will fast track delegates into writing, compiling and running Java applications, executing applets, handling errors with Java exceptions, learning to write effective Java thread-based programs and finally see how best to apply OO techniques using the Java programming language. Intensive Java provides a solid foundation upon which Java programmers can confidently begin to explore the Java platform.

The second course, Essential Servlets/Java Server Pages", held between 6-7 February 2003, will see delegates acquire the key skills to develop, industrial-strength, server-side Internet solutions using Java Servlets and Java Server Pages (JSP). Starting from first principles, Acknowledge will describe what a servlet is, how to design web-based applications and the importance of separating content from presentation using Java Server Pages. The course places Java solutions in a real-world context, contrasting it with well-known technologies such as ASP, CGI and template engines. By the end of the course, the terms servlet, HTTP sessions, JSP, web applications and tag libraries will be useful tools in the delegate's development tool box.

These courses span over five days in London, are have been written and prepared by leading Java specialist Dr Cleveland Gibbon, Technical Director at Acknowledge Technologies. He is an ex PC Plus Java columnist with over 10 years academic and industry experience designing and building software systems. Dr Cleveland Gibbon believes that Java is very much a leading technology for building industry strength e-commerce, transactional and wireless based systems. Acknowledge training courses demonstrate this by empowering delegates with a solid grounding in Java technologies, and teaching by example, how best to apply Java into todays working environments.

Dr Cleveland Gibbon, Technical Director at Acknowledge Technologies explains, Java is well established on the server-side for building large-scale, enterprise based systems. However, more recently, Java has made large inroads in the wireless and mobile technology spaces. A solid grounding in Java serves as a good grounding to moving into the many areas of Java such as gaming, mobile programming, e-commerce, and web services."

Dr Gibbon adds, The Acknowledge courses are a must attend for higher level management and senior developers because it is important to supplement off-line training with a face-to-face mentoring style of teaching. Here, questions can answered based upon the instructors in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, and more importantly sharing what we are currently experiencing, and truly putting theory into practice. Furthermore, we will address key areas of Java which we feel are not published along regular media channels. Answers to any queries will be given at our events."
