Dexterity Software has released Ploing 2, a new 3D arcade game for Windows. Developed by Germany-based Suricate Software using Conitecs A5 rendering engine, Ploing 2 marks Dexteritys fourth release after expanding into online publishing in late 2001.
In Ploing 2 you assume the character of Peter Pilot, lost in space without enough fuel to return to your home galaxy. You control an anti-gravity paddle saucer, a small vehicle which glides around a playing field populated by crystal bricks. Gameplay involves directing your saucer to bounce floating comets into the bricks, thus smashing the bricks and allowing you to collect the fuel within. Some bricks also contain power-ups to upgrade your saucer with special abilities. Ploing 2 includes 49 levels distributed through seven galaxies, each with different goals and obstacles.
Ploing 2 features a simple interface that is suitable for young children while still providing challenging gameplay for adults. A built-in tutorial teaches you the basics of play, and the game supports mouse, keyboard, and joystick controls. Featuring 3D-accelerated graphics and lighting effects, Ploing 2 runs under Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, and XP and requires a Pentium II 300mhz with 32MB RAM and a 3D video card.
