I9Check Releases Newest Version of Employment Verification Software

I9Check's software enables Human Resources departments to verify new hire employment eligibility and track temporary work authorization.

I9Check announces its most recent release of I-9 employment verification software. The software is designed to help U.S. companies comply with rigorous employer sanctions law. U.S. federal regulations require all U.S. employers to examine the work authorization status of all new hires and record this information on the I-9 employment eligibility form. The law imposes strict evidentiary and timing requirements- companies who fail to comply face monetary and even criminal penalties.

I9Check software alleviates the burdensome paperwork requirements associated with I-9 law. It guides both new hire and HR representative in the completion of the I-9 form, ensuring that all necessary spaces are completed and proper documentation requested and presented. The web-based software enables Human Resources departments to complete its I-9 files over the Internet. This arrangement ensures that large complex companies with multiple HR offices can process I-9 forms uniformly.

One of the main challenges companies face when dealing with I-9 paperwork is ensuring that all the details are tended to," states I9Check representative Christina Lee. Our software takes care of this by automatically tracking data like foreign nationals work authorization dates. When a work permit is about to expire, the software sends a warning notice to the HR rep so she can call the employee in for reverification of employment"

Through the Office of Special Counsel, the INS has consistently been auditing and checking the I-9 files of U.S. companies. An audit last year of a well-known hotel in Las Vegas yielded a fine of more than $50,000. The price for non-compliance is high, and with the INS cracking down post-9/11, employers need to be very vigilant regarding who they employ. Our software greatly eases the burden." stated Ms. Lee.
