Sundance Film Festival: Workhouse Publicity to produce event for "Party Monster"
ContentFilm selects veteran Public Relations firm to promote film through exclusive event at 2003 Sundance Film Festival
Park City, Utah- Workhouse Publicity will produce an exclusive dinner event for the film Party Monster to take place at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. Press set-up for arrivals will begin at 7:30pm. Written and directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, the cast includes Macaulay Culkin (Michael Alig), Seth Green (James St. James), Marilyn Manson, Chloe Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne, Dylan McDermott, Wilson Cruz, John Stamos, Wilmur Valderama and Manny Perez. Based on James St. James's critically acclaimed book, Disco Bloodbath, Party Monster is the true story of Michael Alig, New York's club kid king turned killer. Set in the nightclub scene of the late 1980's, Party Monster details an extravagant life which quickly spiraled downward. A darkly comic recounting of the sick, sad and true story of Michael Alig, Party Monster charts the murder of Angel Melendez, Alig's drug dealer roommate who he injected with Drano before throwing in the East River. After boasting on television that he killed Melendez much of the press thought it was a publicity stunt until his body washed ashore. Produced by Killer Films (Boys Don't Cry, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and World of Wonder Productions (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), the film was co-financed by Ed Pressman & John Schmidt's ContentFilm and Fortissimo Film Sales. This is a closed event.
