Researcher Issues Challenge on Noah's Ark: How Much Longer Will We Ignore Clear Evidence?

For more than 100 years scientists and explorers have looked for Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat without success. But now an archaeological explorer has documented a large boat-shaped object that is precisely the length described in the Biblical story. But there is a problem..... the site is not on Mt. Ararat. It is on another mountain about 12 miles away.

Orlando, FL - For more than 100 years, based mainly on the biblical story, scientists and explorers have looked for Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat without success. But now Bill Fry, an archaeological explorer, has documented a large boat-shaped object that is precisely the length described in the Biblical story.

Petrified wood has been found at the site which is over 6500 feet above sea level. Ground penetrating radar scans reveal the structure of a boat underneath a thick covering of mud. Inscriptions have been found that link the object to the biblical story. An etching of a man on a piece of pottery is labeled as "Noah" in an ancient script. Clear pictures of the site have been published. But there is a problem..... the site is not on Mt. Ararat. It is on another mountain about 12 miles away.

Searchers have always believed that Mt. Ararat is the place where the ark landed because it is the highest point in the area. In fact, they are adamant that if the ark is ever found it will be on Ararat. Yet many geologists point out that if Mt. Ararat even existed 5000 years ago, it was much smaller and not nearly as high as it is today.

Fry states, "Based on the current evidence it is amazing to me that anyone is spending any time looking for the ark on Mt. Ararat. Yet that is where 95% of the resources have gone over the last 40 years. There is absolutely no objective scientific evidence to justify searching there."

One reason given by the "mountain people" (the name given to those looking for the ark on Ararat) is that numerous witnesses have "seen the ark" on the mountain. But these anecdotes are not considered scientific evidence. When examined carefully the various stories pinpoint more than half a dozen locations on the mountain. There is not even one clear photo. Only a few fuzzy satellite photos of dark blobs in the snow.

Fry states, "The evidence at this site is compelling. We are finding large amounts of petrified wood. Numerous samples of fossilized coral have been found around the site indicating that this area was once part of a marine environment. We have confirmed the underground structure with metal detectors. This site needs to protected and excavated. Yet we are rarely able to get mainstream scientists to take a serious look. How much longer are they going to ignore clear evidence?"

"If you had to pick a spot based on the evidence alone, the site I am working on is vastly superior. Many of those searching for the ark are critical of our work. I tell you, if this site was located on Mt. Ararat instead of 12 miles away, they would be singing a different song."

Fry's work is ongoing and he travels internationally speaking about this and other biblical archaeology discoveries. At present he is converting the on-site government-owned visitor's center into a Noah's Ark museum. It will include a pictorial history of the work done there as well as artifacts from the site. The grand opening is scheduled for the spring of 2003.

Fry's and Wyatt's research is documented on the Anchor Stone web site at www.anchorstone.com .
