CharlestonCharities.com opens its doors early for local nonprofit organizations.

CharlestonCharities.com is a new online community and resource center serving the Charleston nonprofit community and its generous donors, volunteers and program.

CHARLESTON, SC -- December 13, 2002
Charleston technology consultant, Todd Chas, today announced the opening of a new web portal serving the Charleston nonprofit community and its generous donors, volunteers and program participants.

According to Chas, CharlestonCharities.com will officially open its doors on January 1, 2003 but we are inviting Charleston nonprofits advance access in order to allow them to add their organization websites to our online directory. Our goal is to be the first place people look when they think of Charleston nonprofits. By centralizing information and resources in this field we believe we can help nonprofits with the important work they do."

Listings in the directory are free to any nonprofit in Charleston County. In addition to free directory listings, CharlestonCharities.com offers local nonprofits the opportunity to post events, job openings, press releases and commentary in one of its online forums. The new site also boasts free fundraising and technology tools as well as a wealth of capacity-building resources aimed at helping nonprofits further their missions.

While CharlestonCharities.com is geared toward nonprofit organizations, Chas added that the site was designed with donors, volunteers and local residents in mind as well. As with any community, the quality of life for all Charleston residents is impacted by the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector. Whether you visit the site to learn about an organization or event, make a donation, find a job or volunteer, you are contributing to the improvement of Charleston by strengthening our nonprofit organizations."

Todd Chas has designed a number of websites for local nonprofits including The Community Foundation Serving Coastal SC (TCFgives.org), the SC Association of Community Development Corporations (CommunityDevelopmentSC.org) and Sea Island Technology (SeaIslandTechnology.org)
