Sarah Jessica Parker's Baby Speaks to the Press for the First Time!

It was easy getting the Broderick boy to talk, the hard part was understanding him. Using the methods from their new book Goo Goo Gaa Gaa - The Baby Talk Dictionary and Phrase Book, Marc Jaffe and Peter Gaido were able to do the translating.

Only about 6 weeks old, James Broderick spoke publicly for the first time today. He commented on his often strained relationship with his mother. Sometimes, Ill want some milk in the middle of the night and it takes up to five minutes of screaming before shell give me any. And dont tell me shes sleeping. Im the one who needs a solid 18 hours, not her." The straight talking Broderick boy went on to talk about how his Dads swaddles are always falling apart and how his $1,200 stroller isnt any better than some of his friends $89 model.

Probably the most amazing part of the press conference was that translators Marc Jaffe and Peter Gaido could understand and translate the infants baby language.

I was hit in the head by a foul ball at a baseball game and could suddenly understand my 8-month-old,"says Jaffe. Her first words were, Dad, you stink! How come you didnt catch that?" Jaffe and Gaido co-authored the new book, Goo Goo Gaa Gaa -- The Baby Talk Dictionary and Phrase Book.

Organized along the lines of a Berlitz foreign phrase book, GOO GOO GAA GAA gives parents a passport to the sights and sounds of their babys world. Supplying tongue-in-cheek translations of babys most useful words and expressions, this fun, faux-reference book provides comic relief for new and expecting parents puzzling over all those noises kids make. Those noises" are really a highly developed language and includes key words like:

glop (banana puree) glorp (overflow), nuff (rattle), sy ko sper ment (puzzle that fits geometric shapes into proper holes), diz n pewk (Sit n Spin), z (nap), zzzzz (sleeping through the night), Skul iy payn (Shampoo), Na payn skul (No tears shampoo), Num skul (No screaming shampoo)

Complete with an index and pronunciation guides Goo Goo Gaa Gaa will allow you to communicate with any baby, even Sarah Jessica Parkers without getting hit in the head.

Marc Jaffe was a writer for the television show Seinfeld and is most remembered for the episode where Elaine exposes her nipple on a Christmas card, voted as one of the top 10 all-time favorite Seinfeld episodes. Aside from television, Marc has written screenplays, does voice-over work and is the author of the highly-acclaimed, hysterical book, Sleeping With Your Gynecologist -- Tales From My Marriage to an OB/GYN. Marc spent seven years as a stand-up comedian and has performed on a dozen national TV shows. He lives in Cleveland with his wife and three daughters.

Peter Gaido is one of the funniest lawyers at the firm of Gaido & Herrin in Chicago. Either that says something good about his sense of humor or something bad about his lawyering ability. Peter originated the idea for a babytalk dictionary when he got hit in the head one day and found he could understand his ten month old son. Peter lives with his wife in St. Charles, Illinois and is now the father of a three year old son and a two year old daughter, neither of whom listen to him, even though he speaks their language. His wife is expecting their third child in December.
