Macrovision Releases New Version of GTlicensing
Modified architecture of GTlicensing 4.0 enhances performance and supports XML for web deployment of FLEXlm® Electronic Licenses
London, England - December 16, 2002 -- Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN), the leading developer and supplier of electronic licensing, digital rights management (DRM") and copy protection technologies, announced today that its Enterprise Software Division has released GTlicensing Version 4.0 for general availability.
GTlicensing is a highly scalable, enterprise-class software solution that supports a wide range of digital licensing functions, including the automatic generation and distribution of licenses over the Internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This release represents a major advance in the product architecture, allowing vendors of digitally licensed products more control over their customer-facing licensing portal, providing a more robust enterprise solution, and significantly increasing performance. We are very pleased with the initial feedback from our beta testers at major corporations," said Toby Gawin, vice president worldwide marketing, Macrovisions Enterprise Software Division.
Software vendors are increasingly faced with complex product management issues, such as multiple product offerings and their associated upgrade and maintenance releases, which are efficiently handled by GTlicensing. GTlicensing 4.0 provides software vendors with an efficient system that will greatly reduce costs, increase revenue and allow them to better service their customers.
In keeping with industry trends, GTlicensing now uses technologies such as XML and JSP, making it easier for software vendors to integrate the product to better fit their licensing policies, and to modify customer license fulfillment web pages to provide a higher level of customer satisfaction.
GTlicensing is compatible with a host of the most popular network platforms and operating systems, including Windows, Solaris, and Linux.
Software vendors have shipped over $40 billion worth of software using FLEXlm electronic licensing technology. According to International Data Corp, 65% of the worldwide software market will be delivered using electronic licensing by 2006, rising from 43% in 2001.
