FORT WORTH, TEXAS -LIFE Outreach International is partnering with Franklin Graham and Samaritans Purse to rebuild schools for girls in Afghanistan.
LIFE is contributing $100,000 to help build three new schools in northern Afghanistan. As both Christians and Americans, we joyfully help rebuild the lives of those who have been adversely affected due to political and religious abuse," said James Robison, president and founder of LIFE Outreach.
This fall, tens of thousands of girls repressed by the Taliban regime went back to school, an opportunity they had been denied for five years.
Under the Taliban, females were denied the most basic human rights. They could not go to school or work outside the home. They were forced to wear the burqa," a head-to-toe cover. After basic freedoms were restored, the girls opportunity to attend school was limited because classrooms were destroyed or crumbling from neglect.
Its my personal conviction that there is no greater revelation of the character of God than love in action," Robison said. Im especially excited about giving young women an opportunity to break free from the confinements and limitations of the past."
Robison and Franklin Graham, the son of Rev. Billy Graham, have joined hands on other mission projects, including a medical clinic in Sudan and a transportation project in southern Africa.
