California Quake Announces 2003 Open Tryouts

Women's football team in Long Beach, CA, is holding open tryouts for 2003 season.

The CALIFORNIA QUAKE is looking for women, with and without football experience, who have the heart and dedication to join one of the finest pro teams in the country. ALL SPORTS BACKGROUNDS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED! You must be at least 18 years old, and proof of medical insurance is required. Bring water and cleats; no additional football gear is needed for tryouts.

Tryouts for our upcoming 2003 season are Saturday, January 11th from 8 am to 12 noon. A second set of tryouts will be Saturday, January 25th, also from 8 am to 12 noon. Both tryouts will be held at our home field:

Long Beach Veterans Memorial Stadium
4901 E Conant St
Long Beach, California
On the corners of Conant St and Clark Ave
One block east of Lakewood/one block south of Carson

A $35.00 tryout fee is due at the time of tryout (cash or money order only, no personal checks, please; no charge for returning players.) Bring a copy of your insurance coverage and driver's license for our records.

Candidates will be tested for speed, strength and agility:
Timed 40 yard sprint
Timed 5 yard shuttle
65 lb bench press for maximum reps
Position drills
