RADIO AGREES WITH ROLLING STONE:
"THE BOYS OF SUMMER" NEXT BIG HIT FOR DJ SAMMY
The Village Voice declares DJ Sammy "a f**king genius" upon release of "The Boys of Summer," the follow up to his Top 10 smash single "Heaven"
New York, NY -- Described by Rolling Stone magazine as "an ode to lissome Ibiza dance gods" and by The Village Voice as "full of bliss like a Botox treatment for the soul," DJ Sammy's "The Boys of Summer"--the follow-up to the artist's Top 10 single "Heaven"--continues to be added to radio station playlists throughout the country. Key outlets such as Q102 in Philadelphia, KHTS in San Diego, Star 93.7 in Boston and KFMD in Denver recently began spinning the tune, which Rolling Stone reviewer Jon Caramanica predicted would be DJ Sammy's next pop hit, in part due to its "synth fusillades and workout-ready semi-melodic chants."
Proclaimed by The Village Voice as "a f**king genius," DJ Sammy instills "The Boys of Summer"--a dynamic dance remake of the timeless 1985 Don Henley song--with extraordinary emotion, energy and enthusiasm. Both "The Boys of Summer" and "Heaven" can be found on the album Heaven, which was released in August and has shipped nearly a quarter-million units.
Issued by Robbins Entertainment, an independent label founded in 1996 by former Profile Records president Cory Robbins, DJ Sammy's Heaven is the first full-length American recording from this Majorca-born musician. In addition to "The Boys of Summer" and "Heaven," the disc also features a vibrant dance rendition of the The Mamas & The Papas' classic "California Dreamin'," along with an array of dynamic original compositions.
