Import Server testing

Pilot Group conducted complete testing services for the Import Server software for the company TransWare AG.

This company developed an import module that required thorough testing to ensure best quality of their piece of software.

Import Server is used in distributed environment to collect and process financial information with further import into a single database.

First of all Pilot Group had to ensure that the Import module technically works on several platforms and database engines. First of all software testers in Pilot Group installed the import Module (Server and GUI) on Windows 98 (second edition), Windows 2000 (service pack 2), Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 6), Windows Me, and Windows XP -- to check the installation routine and whether the module is completely compatible with the windows family of operating systems developed in Microsoft.

The next step was to make sure that the Import module operates correctly with Oracle 8i Release 2 (Version 8.1.6), Standard Edition, MSSQL 2000 Personal Edition, and Sybase SQL Anywhere 7.04 Build 2788.

And finally several test imports were accomplished to check out such technical aspects as crashes, dubious error messages, or wrong behaviour of the UI.
