October 1, 2002 - Sophia Antipolis, France. To enable a more rapid development of its business in one of its main areas ofexpertise, Sigma has created a new division - Homega Research - specializing in Technologies and Services for the Home.
This new division develops its activities from the expertise and experience Sigma Consultants has acquired in this domainsince the company's creation in 1984. The objective of Homega Research is to fast become one of the key players worldwide in the field of studies, research and business events focusing on technologies and services for the home.
Managed by Karine Valin, Homega Research is located in Sophia Antipolis, a technology park often called "The European Silicon Valley", close to Nice Côte dAzur International Airport, on the French Riviera. The challenges for all those involved in the markets for products and services for the home are immense. Homega Research is at the service of these players, so they can take full advantage of all their market opportunities.
Homega Research offers its clients a wide range of services. These are developed either as part of multiclient initiatives or, more frequently, as part of custom services. Each service is based on the technical and marketing skills of the Homega Research team and is there to meet a specific need. However, in the majority of cases, this need fits into one of the following categories: competitive, technology and market watch services; market research; technology assessment; evaluation methods and simulation tools; product and service specification and prototyping; moderation of working groups; search for partners; statistical data and surveys. The technologies and services for the home domain also requires its key players to meet, exchange experiences and visions and to go forward together towards the markets. This is why Homega Research uses its expertise and experience in this field to organize business events (workshops, conferences, exhibitions, study trips) for all the sector's players.
Homega Research's services have been developed for all players, in Europe and around the world, involved in the markets for technologies and services for the home - manufacturers (of the various sectors), service companies, research
laboratories, public bodies, industry associations, etc. The company is proud to have established a lasting business relationship based on mutual confidence and esteem with the majority of its clients.
"In the middle of the eighties, through the services offered by Sigma, I was lucky enough to be directly involved in the first developments of products and services for the home based on information technology. Since then, despite my company responsibilities, I have always striven to keep abreast of events in this field and to develop my expertise. I have therefore had the pleasure over the years of working closely with numerous key players on the European and global market and of experiencing firsthand their determination to bring groundbreaking products and services to market", states Roger Torrenti, President and CEO of Sigma Consultants. "I am particularly pleased today to be able to count on the skill and motivation of Karine Valin and her team in the Homega Research Division to expand our activities in this area, at a time when markets for technologies & services for the home seem, finally, to have reached an unquestionable level of maturity", continues Roger Torrenti.
"When I joined Sigma in the middle of 1999, I already had an expectation of rare professional ethics, motivating projects and a high-performance environment. Now, four years on, my expectations have certainly been surpassed! I was quickly
able to come into contact with numerous clients and to discover for myself the company's excellent reputation. I was also able, very quickly, to take charge of a team with whom it was possible to share high level professional values and real
commitment to work, quality and service", states Karine Valin, General Manager of Homega Research. Karine continues "In autumn 2002, when Roger offered me the management of the Homega Research division, specializing in his own fascinating area of expertise, I assessed the challenge and accepted it with joy and determination".
