EUROGENTEC HAS ACQUIRED WITA PROTEOMICS

On the 18th of December, Eurogentec acquired the entire business of WITA Proteomics, a company specialised in proteomic services, based in Berlin (Germany).

Sart-Tilman, December 19, 2002 - On the 18th of December, Eurogentec acquired the entire business of WITA Proteomics, a company specialised in proteomic services, based in Berlin (Germany).

For more than 2 years, WITA Proteomics AG, has been proposing to the research community a wide range of services. These services include high resolution 2D gel electrophoresis, protein identification by Mass Spectrometry methods and sequencing. The company also proposes more complex services for protein characterisation and identification. Since its creation, WITA Proteomics AG has signed several contracts with the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, and has acquired innovative intellectual properties in the field of protein separation.
"The recognised know-how and the unique expertise of WITA Proteomics AG complement ideally our developments in proteomics. In conjunction with our new protein array platform, WITA Proteomics technology will enable us to propose an integrated solution to our customers", stated Dr. Proess Proteomic Business Unit Manager at Eurogentec.
