Beaverton, Oregon, December 27, 2002 - Both share the same dream of an auction site dedicated to it's members.

Gunner Bevins educated in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he moved to Beaverton, OR 20 years ago. Determined to make his own way, he started a carpet cleaning business in 1995 called G & J Quality Carpet Cleaning. Although satisfied with the success of his business, he felt something was missing. Approximate two years ago he started to join online auctions sites. Finding it exciting, he decided to look into the building of an auction site and purchased the software to try and build his very own. Then came the name, he thought to himself, "I need to come up with a name for people like myself" everyday plain folk. The name Plain Folk Auctions was born. It was a struggle not knowing how to actually run the software he would find it somewhat difficult to do, and then he came across another with the same dream.

Donna Durham educated in Huntington, New York, she moved to Roanoke, VA 10 years ago. A self-taught web developer, she started her own web development company called Expressions One and has been in business for 8 years. She too became involved in online auctions and wanted more. She searched the web looking for auction software to build her own auction site when she stumbled onto Plain Folk Auctions. Being a web developer she was curious about this site and decided to contact the owner to see if she could help. They immediately came together and Plain Folk Auctions took off. Together they make a team so strong that new members of Plain Folk Auctions have nothing but praise for this new site.

Before the cracking of the old site Gunner had some problems with the old server and some people emailed me asking my thoughts on Plain Folk Auctions, I sent them an email and have copied a part that seems to fit the need... Why list on this auction site? I am a very new user of computers, and when I was having trouble registering, the owner of this auction took the time out of his busy schedule to call and ask if he could assist me. A person just does not get that kind of sevice from the big corporate auctions sites!"
