Winter months bring cold weather and Parade of Fashion to Olde City Philadelphia.
A Million For Us, Inc. will be holding a Benefit Fashion Show January 25th, 2003. Proceeds benefit young entrepreneurs.
The world of fashion has never seen anything like this before now. On January 25th, 2003, A Million For Us, Inc., will be hosting its 2003 Emerging Artists Parade of Fashion at the world-renowned October Gallery in Olde City Philadelphia. It is in the art district of Philadelphia that this revolution will take place. This years event will not be a traditional fashion show of starved models and ear-pulsing music, but an elegant gallery of fashion.
Many emerging fashion designers from all over the country have applied for the seven coveted spots at the event, including designers from New York, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, California, etc. And on the final Saturday evening of January, those selected will have the privilege of displaying their fashion designs for the world to see.
Andrea Dade, accessories designer and fashion expert, spoke of the event. It will be like an art gallery, except the art is fashion. The guests will be able to interact with the designs instead of just sitting down to a repetitive show." Ms. Dade, creator of Focal Point a.d. and the motivation behind this pivotal event, communicated the concept to co-chairperson Christine Forrest from A Million For Us, Inc. In that conversation, the idea took root, and the once Benefit Fashion Show became a vehicle to change the way emerging fashion designers can reach their targeted public.
And, because A Million For Us is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship to adults under thirty, a special entrepreneur was selected to be the Mistress of Ceremonies at the event. Melinda Emerson, president of Quintessence Entertainment and recipient of the 2002 Philadelphia Business Journal Women of Distinction Award, will be hosting the event. Emerson, well known in the visual production industry for her companys strides and accomplishments, started her company while she was still in her mid twenties.
