Nashville singers and songwriters, Randy and Cindy Moore were honored last Saturday by the Songwriters Network during their annual awards program. Cindy was named Country Female Artist of 2002 and Randy was named Country Male Artist of 2002. Randy also received the award of the evening for best Album of the Year with his self-titled "Randy Moore and the Fabulous Deltones".

The Songwriters Network is a program on Cyberstationusa, a live Internet radio station, broadcasting from Hartford, Connecticut. This program plays all genres of music by independent artists from the United States and around the world. It is hosted by Bert Gagnon, the creator and producer of the show, Patty Yagtu, a professional broadcaster, and J- Rock, a very talented recording artist and music journalist himself.

The Songwriters Network has an audience of over 4 million listeners worldwide and is featured in the Indie Bible among other prestigious publications worldwide. Cindy Moore, a native of Atlanta, GA and an Opryland U.S.A. theme park veteran, currently performs at the world- famous Gaylord Opryland Hotel, the Wild Horse Saloon and various conventions and venues worldwide. For over twenty years, millions of people have enjoyed her portrayal of "Miss Minnie". Her most recent appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in her "Tribute To Minnie" occurred this past August 31. Cindy learned her craft from the original Minnie Pearl, Sarah Cannon. Sarah discovered Cindy portraying "Miss Minnie" in Opryland's COUNTRY MUSIC U.S.A. and saw something she liked in the young performer. She took Cindy under her wing and schooled Moore in the finer points of the Minnie Pearl Character. Today, when folks ask Cindy, "Oh, are you the new Minnie Pearl?" She respectfully declines with, "There's only one Sarah Cannon, and there's only one Minnie Pearl. I'm just here to keep the legend going for you."

Randy Moore is a Nashville based recording artist whose career spans two decades that run the gamut from live performances to television features and all points in-between. Moore debuted at age 17 on the world famous WSM Grand Ole Opry. His days on tour included opening for Hank Williams, Jr., David Allen Coe, and Johnny Paycheck. Since then he has shared the stage with the likes of Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood and Amy Grant. In October 2001 he shared the stage with Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen in two special benefit shows in Red Bank, New Jersey for families of victims of the World Trade Center attack. Randy performed a Carl Perkins tribute with such members of Elvis Presleys Sun Records band as Sonny Burgess and D. J. Fontana. Those evenings remain a very special memory for Randy. He has written with such greats as Lonestar, Restless Heart and the legendary Carl Perkins.

Cindy and Randy give generously of their time and talents for charitable causes. Each Easter they open their home to a neighborhood egg hunt to benefit some cause that is close to their hearts. What makes this award very special to Randy and Cindy is the fact that it was voted by the many listeners of the radio station.
