Announcing LanguageNow! Version 9 for Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. Exciting new features make language learning easier than ever.

Transparent Language, Inc., a leading developer of language learning technology for the consumer, education, government, and corporate markets, today announced the Version 9.0 release of their award-winning LanguageNow! language-learning CD-ROM series.

Merrimack, NH—March 6, 2002—Transparent Language, Inc., today announced the Version 9.0 release of their award-winning LanguageNow! language-learning CD-ROM series.

LanguageNow! Version 9 features an entirely new user interface that is more visually appealing and more intuitive. A new Video Theater and two additional games enhance the learning experience. In addition, a new advanced speech analysis engine quickly helps improve pronunciation and accent.

Enhanced User Interface with Improved Navigation

LanguageNow! has always been the most powerful software in its class. Now, an entirely new tabbed user interface makes key program elements more obvious and easier to access. Improved hints and layered interactive help let even new users easily navigate the full range of LanguageNow! functionality and focus their learning experience exactly the way they want.

New Video Theater enhances the learning experience

The new Video Theater allows users to preview native language content at near full-screen video resolution. From here the user can choose to move on to any of a wide variety of fun and engaging activities focusing on all of the important elements of language, including pronunciation, vocabulary, language investigation and interactive conversation.

New games provide even more fun ways to improve language skills

The new Verb Quest and Graffiti games focus learners on word skills and even make it fun to learn grammar.

Graffiti reinforces the learners language skills as they grab letters and reconstruct a sentence taken from the wide array of native language material included in LanguageNow!. This challenging activity builds spelling and vocabulary skills as well as syntax and grammar.

Verb Quest is a great way to master those pesky verb forms. Compete against the clock and yourself to find the verbs in sentences taken right from the learning material.

Verb Quest and Graffiti, like all activities in LanguageNow!, offer users an almost unlimited variety of language practice through dynamically generated activities that are different every time you play.

New speech analysis features improve pronunciation and accent

LanguageNow! 9.0 offers learners unique advanced speech analysis that quickly helps improve pronunciation and accent. The new colorful Vowels Graph – together with the full range of existing pronunciation tools – will help learners improve the pronunciation of key elements in their new language. By visually depicting vowel sounds, glides, and stress, these graphs make easy one of the hardest things in language learning: hearing and then correcting how the learners pronunciation differs from that of the native speakers.

New LanguageNow!, the best value for language learners

Version 9 confirms LanguageNow! as the premier software system for people who really want to learn a language," said Mike Quinlan, president of Transparent Language. It's not just 25 cutesy lessons and have-a-good-life," added Quinlan. Version 9 offers a huge field of language environments and language activities that no other system comes close to. And it's so seductive; it makes you want to work on your language ‘just a few more minutes. That's the real key, because successfully learning a language is really about doing more of it."

Pricing and availability

LanguageNow! 9 will be available April 1 and will carry a suggested retail price of $39.95 (LatinNow! will sell for $129.95). LanguageNow! Version 9 is available directly from Transparent Language and through leading computer software retailers such as CompUSA, Staples, Office Depot, MicroCenter, and others.
