(SMI), in Pensacola, Florida, to provide world-class Linux+ certification training in the New Horizons Pensacola office. Ed Carp, SMI's Director of Software Development and one of the original Linux kernel developers, has assumed additional teaching responsibilities for the classes.

Ed Carp has over 22 years experience in the IT industry, beginning his career at Datapoint Corporation in 1979. He has written well over 100,000 lines of code in his career, has contributed significantly to the Linux operating system since its beginning in 1991, and to the Open Source movement in general.
