Receives CLEC Certifications in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania;
To Begin Selling Services in New York with Savings to Small Business Customers of up to 25% from the Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier Retail Rates
Norwalk, CT – May 2, 2002 – Cordia Corp. (OTCBB:CORC), a provider of technology enabled outsourced services to the insurance and telecommunications industries, today announced that its subsidiary, Cordia Communications Corp. has received CLEC certifications in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania. In addition, Cordia announced that it will now begin to sell local and long distance services throughout the State of New York with an offering of up to 25% savings from the retail rates charged by the incumbent local exchange carrier.
Cordias CEO, Craig Gironda stated, We are excited about our expansion into telecommunications. We believe that, after many difficult years for competitive telecommunications providers, recent state public service commission (PSC") rulings in New York have created enormous opportunities to provide profitable telecommunications services while offering significant savings to our customers."
Cordia will only focus its resources in states where the state PSCs have promoted and enforced local competition", continued Mr. Gironda. We will initially concentrate all of our efforts in New York and will offer services in additional states only where the competitive pricing environment in each state justifies our entry."
In addition to offering discounted services, Cordia will continue to add value for its customers through online customer automation and self-service tools. In the coming months, Cordia expects to introduce a series of tools that will create a virtual outsourced telecommunications management service for its customers and partners.
Cordia Corporation develops and provides industry specific applications, solutions and services. Cordias primary operations are currently concentrated in the insurance industry through its operating division, Insurance Solutions Group (ISG) and the telecommunications industry through its operating subsidiary, Cordia Communications Corp. Cordia plans to expand its efforts into additional industry segments.
