ARCH LTD/WSS ANNOUNCES NEW SECTION 508 SERVICE TO MAKE WEB SITES AND APPLICATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL Innovative Retrofit & Design Service to Enhance Disabled Users Web Experience

Prague, Czech Republic – May 10, 2002 – Arch Ltd/Web Space Station tm today announced its exclusive Section 508 retrofit & design service that enables web sites and applications to be made accessible to anyone, regardless of disability. The companys new service helps its customers to track and manage compliance with Section 508 accessibility requirements, thereby accommodating the needs of over 54 million Americans with disabilities.

Arch/Web Space Station will thoroughly audit any Web based application or software product to determine its level of compliance regarding accessibility regulations and provide a complete list of deviations. The company will then redesign and retrofit your Web based application or software product to comply with 508 / WAI Guidelines based on a complete plan and schedule also provided by this new service

We are pleased to play a significant role in bringing the power and ease of the use of the Web to disabled users," said Boris Kontsevoi, president of Arch/WSS. By making this process easy and affordable we are not only helping the companies that need to comply with the federal regulations, but we are making it possible for virtually any web-based business to serve a rapidly growing part of the Internet economy – the disabled user."

Arch/Web Space Station uses its DirectSource software to automatically identify and correct Section 508 compliance errors. It differs from other software tools available in that it finds accessibility violations directly in the source code, not in the resulting HTML code. This advance in technology allows a significant speed up to the process of retrofitting a website to meet compliance requirements.

At the end of the retrofitting stage, Arch/Web Space Station will train the websites developers and designers and provide documentation outlining the most common violations and instructions on how to avoid them in the future. As a bonus, they also provide their Direct Source software for free to enable existing, in-house staff to develop new software systems that are 508 / WAI compliant going forward.
