MASSIFF MONDAY a Multi-Cultural Celebration of roots, reggae, soul, jazz and Asian dub
4pm-late Monday 3rd June
Anticipated venue - Kings Court, Merchant City, Glasgow.
Due to an unforeseen problem with the licence at Cantina Del Rey, we have had to relocate to a different venue.
New venue – Salsa (once the ‘Bridge) which is situated across the Clyde, via the suspension bridge @ 63 Carlton Place.
On Monday the 3rd June Massiff Events will produce an Alternative Jubilee Celebration showcasing an eclectic menu of musical performances, live visual art, and fully licensed bar and Caribbean style buffet in Salsa, Carlton Place.
The purpose of the event is to promote the strong influence of world music in Glasgows contemporary and culturally diverse music scene. As the rest of the country will celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee we plan to highlight the other countries within the Commonwealth and their musical styles. The production team at Massiff Events promise to deliver a party fuelled by summer spirit, no matter what the weather!
Massiff Monday is the first event planned by the production company but not the first for the director, Craig Griffin founder of Free Hairdressing, Art Gallery and Alternative Therapy Clinic in Chisholm Street in the Merchant City. His previous Arts and Music ventures have always proved successful and his collaborations with Massiff Café, in Parnie Street, and the Tron Theatre, all in the Merchant City, have established him as one of the Citys leading creative promoters.

More-
MASSIFF MONDAY continued
Massiff Monday is a very exciting event for me, I lived in Bermuda for a while and have always wanted to bring a little bit of the island back here to Glasgow…I feel with this event I can not only promote
the music but also the laid back, care-free and positive attitude of tropical island life. This is only the first in a serious of events planned throughout the summer. Our initial venue Cantina Del Rey will host our next event on July 14th (Glasgow Fair Sunday). Our licence will be in place for this imminent urban style festival. "
Reggae features heavily in the programme with the resident Reggae DJ at Massiff, Stevie Dub. Additionally we will have performances with Harri from the Sub Club. Other cultural music featured will involve namely B-Ding presents Tiger Style, Mark Robb from The Buff Club and Paul Cawley from Psy-Phi, each expressing their musical influences!
Massiff will be hosting the Caribbean buffet and refreshments throughout the course of the day. This will include a tropical punch as well as a host of authentic cocktails, spirits and beers. With all the events planned, the evening is guaranteed to be colourful, memorable and inspirational.
