Simpod Announce Deskpod Integration to Windriver VxWorks and Tornado

DeskPOD is used to verify embedded system and ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) designs. Its modeling technology combines the accuracy demanded by hardware engineers with the performance, ease of use and debugging capabilities needed by software engineers. DeskPOD models, including models for microprocessors, are used for logic simulation and for hardware and software (HW/SW) co-verification.

Santa Clara, California, June 5, 2002 - Simpod Inc., an EDA (Electronic Design Automation)company in the embedded systems verification market, announced that its modeling system, DeskPOD, now has a seamless integration with Windriver's Tornado and VxWorks.

"Our latest integration with VxWorks allows a significant head start for our customers. Customers can now develop and test their BSPs (Board Support Package) before engaging in actual manufacturing", noted Yiftach Tzori Simpod's president.

Yiftach also added that one of the major differences between Simpod integration and other solutions offered is that DeskPOD offers seamless interface to the Windriver set of development tools. "Doing so", he said, "our customers are using the same software development and debug tools during the whole project life cycle and save themselves both the cost and the learning curve required when using different software packages."

DeskPOD models provide accurate simulation models of silicon devices with higher performance than any full-function software models can provide since they use actual silicon. Models of new devices can be created in a fraction of the time it takes to develop a software model.

In an embedded system project, project managers benefit from a shorter project schedule and lower project cost. Hardware engineers get more accurate verification of the design and true stimuli from accurate models and software engineers have early access to hardware for testing code and uncovering HW/SW interface issues.
