When checking out current weather conditions in remote locations, Weather Forecast, LLCs user-controlled WeatherCams need high speed Internet access for maximum performance.

Since high-speed access has rolled out to only certain, densely populated areas of the United States, Weather Forecast, LLC needed a new solution for the rapidly expanding WeatherCam program it runs for AccuWeather and AccuWeather.com, called AccuWeather iSight . It offers views of many popular U.S. business and tourist destinations, and will be locating WeatherCams in some remote locations, parks and construction sites not covered by high speed Internet access.

Weather Forecast LLC turned to Hughes Network Systems, which in turn, pointed it in the direction of C-COM Satellite Systems, Inc. based in Ontario, Canada. Together, Weather Forecast and C-Com worked together to integrate the two systems together using the DIRECWAYä satellite system.
