NORTHFIELD, IL, June 10 – Advanced Project Solutions, Inc. (APS), announced today the launching of a unique executive program: software project management training with a twist. Its for NON-software savvy executives who are unfamiliar, and often frustrated, with the way their software department works. The goal is to provide senior business managers with the knowledge necessary to successfully oversee their software development organization and evaluate their developers performance.

The executive training program responds to a corporate need for senior business managers and software developers to talk the same language – at least as far as software development is concerned. The program includes a short one to two day workshop followed by onsite guidance, and covers such subjects as software terms and jargon, understanding software development estimates, risk analysis (what might go wrong and what can be done about it), early warning signs of a software project in trouble, dealing with software developers (are they really any different from other engineers?), and the development-related questions that senior managers need to ask.

The level of frustration between senior management and software developers is high," said Elli Bennatan, senior consultant at APS, and one of the main reasons is poor communications between the two levels. Software is a critical part of all high-tech products today but the programmers who produce it are notorious optimists. CEOs and Vice Presidents need the ability to quickly grasp the real status of their software projects so they can plan their business strategies accordingly." It is our goal to provide them with that ability." stated Bennatan.

The new executive training program entitled Software Project Management for NON-Software Project Managers, will be provided by APS as either public workshops or tailored training sessions for individual companies. We believe that this program is unique." added Bennatan. We are unaware of anything similar being offered and we know that there is a strong need for this program".
