WASHINGTON POST'S COVERAGE OF THE MIDEAST CONFLICT
On the 35th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, and in protest of the Washington Post's imbalanced reporting of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Committee in Solidarity with the Palestinian People (CISPP), a diverse coalition of DC-area organizations in support of a just and peaceful resolution to the conflict and its accurate portrayal in the U.S., will convene a joint press conference to present evidence of the Washington Post's double standards in reporting the Middle East conflict, and to call on the Post to put an immediate end to the double standards and make a greater effort to engage all segments of its audience in a constructive dialogue that could lead to fair reporting for both sides.
Specific analyses of the Post's coverage spanning the last 21 months, prepared by Palestine Media Watch and the Arab American Institute, will be presented and discussed.
