Grandmother's 75+ year pasta sauce recipe launched to public!

ANJONS GOURMET PASTA SAUCES -- Its the Pasta Sauce you can drink!" Johnny DiSanto of Anjons Restaurant in Scarborough, Maine will officially launch two of his Grandmothers famous pasta sauces nationally on June 12th. This campaigns purpose is to expand Anjons market in retail and wholesale, as well as launch www.anjons.com: a fully functional E-Commerce web site targeting sales nationally.

Anjons Tomato and Marinara Sauce has been flying off the shelves at local Hannaford stores in Scarborough and Portland, as well as other specialty food stores in Southern Maine for over three years. Each sauce retails between $3.99 - $5.99 a jar, and John DiSanto will be selling any combination of the two sauces online for $5.00 per jar (sold in half or full cases).

Johnny DiSanto states: I cant keep the sauce on the shelves at the local Hannaford Brothers, and I get so many email requests each day from people all over the U.S. asking me to send them our famous sauce." I just had to break down and start marketing the product -- and our E-Commerce enabled web site will allow us to sell all over the country."

The history of the sauce is most interesting. In 1957, after using up their full life savings to buy an old seafood shack in Scarborough, Johnnys grandparents: Ann and John DiSanto opened Anjons Italian Restaurant, making their dream a reality. Serving traditional Italian fare to the residents of Scarborough, Maine, Ann built an admirable reputation for her gourmet marinara and tomato sauces. Using only the finest ingredients and the freshest herbs and garlic, the recipes for Anns sauces have not changed in the 75 years of their existence. Anns son, Rocco, will attest to this fact, as he is the man responsible for cooking and canning each jar of Anjons Gourmet Pasta Sauce.

"I was 10 years old when I made my first sauce ... and its STILL made EXACTLY as my mother taught me ... no shortcuts -- the old fashioned way!" Explains Rocco DiSanto, as he stirs a kettle full of Anjons Gourmet Marinara by hand ...
This event will be held upstairs at Anjons Restaurant - 521 Route One in Scarborough, Maine (across from the marsh) on June 12th from 5-8pm. All media and potential wholesale buyers, friends and family are invited to come eat & celebrate!

This free event will include plenty of free food (Anjon's famous stuffed breads and pasta), a sauce tasting, and a special commemorative toast to Ann and John DiSanto and their memory.

Join in our celebration of Italian heritage, tradition and the fine art of great food.
