NanoVia, LP Applies Patented Microvia Drilling Technology to Combat Bio-Terrorism

LONDONDERRY, NH -- NanoVia, LP, an innovative leader in the development of next generation high-speed microvia drilling technology, announced today its intent to further develop its patented drilling process for pulmonary drug delivery to combat air-borne bio-terrorist threats.

Direct pulmonary drug delivery provides several advantages over traditional oral & injection methods; it is compact, painless, targeted and fast acting. While currently applicable for conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fast-moving allergic reactions, seizures & cardiovascular conditions, NanoVia, LP believes that inhaled physical threats, such as Anthrax, can also be combated.

NanoVia, LPs packaging is based on the idea of a single-dose application. The unit would administer a pre-measured dose with particle sizes on the order of 0.5 microns, requiring an exit diameter of less than 1.0 micron. This size can only be created in both a cost-effective and highly reproducible manner by NanoVia, LPs patented micro-machining techniques.

The fabrication process will be highly accurate and repeatable, while at the same time so cost-effective that the devices will be disposable," says Todd E. Lizotte, Vice President of
R & D and CDO of NanoVia, LP.

Lizotte added, As we continue to apply high speed microvia drilling technology outside the realm of microelectronics packaging, we will continue to seek those applications most beneficial to Americans at home and abroad."

NanoVia,LP -- General

NanoVia, LP develops, designs and builds automated manufacturing equipment, optical systems and assembly/fabrication processes for the microelectronics packaging, telecom and micro-systems market.
