Independent Consultants Collaborate to Increase Value
Denver, Colorado, June 13, 2002 – Leading Front Range independent consultants have joined together to form Denver Consulting Alliance, LLC (DCA), collaborating to increase their collective capabilities and opportunities. DCA is a new kind of organization for todays free-agent economy, formed in response to current market dynamics and the cry for honest leadership in professional services", said Paul Hoyt, President and spokesperson.
Independent consultants have traditionally delivered superior value to those who use professional services, because an independent consultant is a small business person who understands the perspectives of senior management. You cant teach that in school or learn it as a ‘warm-body on assignment from a contract house - you can only learn it at a gut-level by being in senior management yourself. Independents are typically the best and brightest, relying on their reputations and word-of-mouth referrals to find their engagements. Many have over 20 years experience and deliver the highest quality services at great prices. We make finding the right independent consultant easy, and offer a great alternative to traditional professional service firms", said Paul.
DCA has copied the full-disclosure" model common to the real-estate industry, which means that everyone involved in an engagement knows how much is being paid and to whom. Independent consultants have been frustrated for years as they work through other organizations that can take from 30-70% of the total fee for an engagement, often hiding the details of the transaction from those who provide the services. By being a thin and operationally efficient middleman, the total cost of services is reduced, often by substantial amounts.
DCA is an elite organization, where members must be sponsored into the Alliance by current members or undergo rigorous interviews. Members must also subscribe to a Code of Ethics as part of the membership agreement. Growing rapidly, DCA expects to have hundreds of members in the next few months.
Our delivery capabilities are enriched with every new member. It is very, very exciting to see the talent flow into the Alliance," said Paul. DCA will begin with 25 members in focused practice areas and a general talent pool, and expects to increase the depth of their delivery capabilities in existing practices and expand into new areas as the membership grows. The initial practice areas are in Management Analytics and Program Management.
The founders have been collaborating for the last several months, working to set sales strategies, revenue distribution models, and opportunity pursuit plans. We have two goals: we want to provide great talent at a great price, and we want to flow as much revenue as possible back to the independent consultant."
DCA is in the process of establishing formal partnerships with leading and emerging technology companies to enhance their service offerings and create new sources of engagements.
