Gateway Mountain Appeals To Baby Boomers Desiring More Than Just "A View" For their Dream Getaway

I want to appeal to real estate agents and to babyboomers looking for a second or retirement home. Also to nature enthusiasts and outdoor sporting crowd. Investors as well.

There has been a growing trend in our country towards a simple and natural lifestyle. This trend is apparent in the baby-boomers especially. With baby-boomers approaching retirement, the need for second and retirement type properties is on the rise. They seem to desire a simple, beautiful and natural environment with a variety of activities from city life to outdoor sports. Gateway Mountain, located near Old Fort, North Carolina, is fulfilling this need and is truly the Gateway To The Mountains."

Communities are sprouting up everywhere that fulfill the special needs of this growing population. Good water, cool breezes, privacy, abundant plant life and safety are items that most newcomers seek. The drinking water at Gateway Mountain is great. Folks fill their jugs when they leave. Privacy and safety are at the top of the list too. Gateway Mountain is an extremely private, gated-community, with two small lakes and a trout pond, enveloped within 2,500 acres of old growth forest.

Around 100 full timers and 300 part timers enjoy the hiking trails, waterfalls, picnic areas, lakes and breathtaking views all year round. Every season presents a new and exciting array of views and wildlife. As a natural habitat the community is filled with wild flowers, laurels, rhododendron, ancient trees, dogwood and lots of birds and other wildlife. Whether one is interested in trout fishing, hiking, sunning, conoeing or bird watching, Gateway meets their needs. The local areas provide an assortment of activities ranging from city dining and shopping in local Asheville, to a wide variety of outdoor sports throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains. Also close to Charlotte, Greensboro, Hickory-Highpoint, Hendersonville and Winston-Salem, all less than two hours drive. We are smack in the middle of the best North Carolina has to offer.

Historical Old Fort is a charming and unassuming mountain community with tourist appeal. The nationally famous Friday Night Mountain Music Gathering" featuring local and visiting traditional mountain musicians as heard in the movie Oh Brother Where Art Though". You never know who may show up and fiddle. Saturday evenings provide antique enthusiasts with entertainment at a local auction house in the downtown of "Gateway To The Mountains". Come visit our lovely mountain retreat.
