Randomworks Entertainment creates film-centric virtual exhibit for UBC Museum of Anthropology in conjunction with the Virtual Musuem of Canada.
A wonderful opportunity to merge various media into one flowing, interactive documentary. The end result offers the world a small window into the rich tradition of Haida pole-raising.
The website, which is funded by a grant from the Virtual Museum of Canada (Department of Canadian Heritage), will have its official launch on National Aboriginal Day, Friday, June 21, 2002 at the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Randomworks Entertainment completes virtual exhibit for UBC Museum of Anthropology
Vancouver BC (June 18, 2002) - Randomworks Entertainment, a film and new media production company, joins UBC Museum of Anthropology (MOA) in celebrating the launch of the museums virtual exhibit documenting the carving and raising of The Respect to Bill Reid Pole. The pole-raising took place at MOA on October 1st, 2000.
THE RESPECT TO BILL REID POLE website (http://www.virtualmuseum.ca/Exhibitions/Billreidpole) was developed by Randomworks Entertainment for MOAs installation to the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC). Hours of video footage, audio recordings and hundreds of photographs were assembled into an interactive documentary to be permanently housed at VMC as part of its online museum exhibition (www.virtualmuseum.ca).

The Respect to Bill Reid Pole website is an interactive exhibit that allows users the opportunity to explore Haida pole-raising through a combination of Flash, live-action video, and audio. An interactive Flash timeline provides visitors with an intuitive, user-friendly navigation system. Each of the short documentary videos is narrated by the poles carver, Haida Chief Jim Hart who provides context and perspective to the interactive documentary.
